Came across this poem, by a well known poet. Has a very deep meaning.
Oh, the heart that knows to remember thy , don't thy know to forget?
the soul that knows to mingle, don't thy know to avoid/distant yourself?
the eyes that knows to fall for seduction, don't thy know to sleep?
oh, the love that knows to blossom, don't thy know to slip away?
the hand that knows to receive/take , don't you known to give?
Tamizh that knows to be sweet, don't you know to taste bitter? ( Tamizh is regarded as a beautiful language. Here, I believe the poet calls his sweetheart as Tamizh-beautiful. Don't the sweet sweetheart knows how to be bitter and hurt people?-maybe by being bitter, he can hate her :) )
படிக்கத் தெரிந்த இதழே, உனக்கு முடிக்க தெரியாதா?
the tongue that knows to read, don't you know to finish- I've no idea....
படரத் தெரிந்த பனியே, உனக்கு மறையத் தெரியாதா?
the snow that known to spread everywhere, don't thy know to hide?
the boiling moon, don't thy know to cool? (the warm moon, maybe due to its golden yellow color, the poet asking his fury sweetheart to be cool/gentle)-I think so.
cold breeze air, don't thy know to separate- here, usually wind breeze will be cool and soothing-you can't separate them
the Lord who knows to separate, don't Thy know to unite us?
Oh, the man who knows to unite, don't thy understand me?
I've tried to interpret with my very very little Tamizh knowledge. I'll be grateful if someone can help me to correct this.
