a trip, almost to be tragic!

And here I am, still alive, blogging. ( Doesn't that sounds insane?).
A trip which almost took our life. Exam has come to an end and everyone going back. So we decided to hangout together before going on our own way. Here comes a new idea: let's go to a cave which located almost 200km a way (another state precisely. And well, that's not my idea, but from an adventurous and must-make-the-idea-happen friend). After my lab, we started our journey of one and half hour. End up taking 2 hours as we get lost halfway. And We went through the tunnel, again!

Gua tempurung, Perak

Because we left our place quite late, my friend decided to speed to reach on time. Driving fast, and everyone  was sleepy (the day before busy planning till 4am), not forgetting snack-time.

Snack time is always the best. I agree you will end up dirty-ing  your car, but then who cares? You see, all will enjoy except the driver. He was fed by Param, who declined to feed with bare hand instead used spoon. Eventually, the ring shaped snack fall on the floor. Guess who tried to pick the ring?

The DRIVER! He bent down to the left, and steering moved to the right, to the road divider. So near till almost hitting it. We looked, and as fast as possible he steered to left. The car moved 'sharply' to left, and to right again. Three times; left, right, left and back to normal. It was only four of us in the car; two guys and two girls.  The front passengers were wearing seatbelt, and they stayed at place. All I see was road and driver's hand controlling the steering. The passenger beside him, Oh God, STATUE! WE at the back, we pushed left and right. I thanked the food which parted us in the middle, or else I would have pushed Anu till she hit on the mirror, hurting herself. Anu screamed three times as though synchronized with the car movement.LOL ( God, I'm making fun of this!).

At that point, my mother's face flashes on my head. How I didn't inform her before leaving, fearing she might object. I regretted, and all I can see was the aftermath; accident, hospital, I lied and didn't ask permission; mom never gonna trust me again! I hoped it would stop.

Thank God it stopped.

Silent. All.

I realised, and I got to know myself. When I get panic, the fear blocks my throat till I can't scream. I couldn't scream for help.
Anu cried and I comforted her, with fear still dominating my heart.
After few seconds, laughter filled the space. The guys were laughing about the tragic. At first, we were shocked, they takeit easy. But after a while, we too, burst into laughters. All the time talking about it, and sharing everyone experience about it.

We named the moment as 'Kalasala'.  Each time there is a car which goes slowly in front of us, these two guys will say 'Ei, navere, enna petthi uneke teriyathe; ei paakerriye, paakeriya.' (Hei, you don't know about me; hei, wanna see (my act)) And you know what, the van which was coming behind us, which watched the whole drama; never neared our car. The van stayed away from our car after that! Hahahahahaha!

Reaching home, we Thanked God. We should. He saved us from everything, Everything!

Garudaa Bhagwan, Who came and blessed us for a safe journey.Who saved us from the tragic. Thank you bhagwan. To Narayanan, Who sent Garudan to watch us all the time, Thank you. May you bless us forever.

My mom, a Techsavvy

No, I ain't machine lover. And this is not about iPod, iPad, or Steve Jobs. Seriously, my knowledge on gadgets is so low. I can't even tell you what is the difference between smart phone and normal phone. By the way, what the heck is smart phones??? LOL

So, coming to the point...It's something funny here. This was few weeks back when  I brought my brother and my mom to grandma's place. He was weak in Add maths and my cousin helped him. This what happened. Both teen age was with books, and look at the oldies...wuahahaha

My aunt do not know how to handle but my mom! hmmph, she can even watch youtube. She will switch on, go to youtube, and her favourite is cooking by vahrehvah. But she spent most of the time watching earthquake/ tsunami in Japan. It has been over a year, but my mom still amazed how STRONG nature is. She can't believe Bhooma Devi could get angry to that extreme!

One thing about my mom. She learn everything by herself. I mean, take some housewives for example. They stay at home, so they don't have to learn, they are old, gadgets not their generation, so they don't learn.

I remember how frustrated my mom was when she can't take license due to her age. Teaching her how to use computer was stressful. But, she badly wanted to learn. Somehow she learnt on her own. She loves youtube and knowledgeful-blogs. And she is also into politics. Nme one, and she can tell you his history, together with his 'uulal' :P

Let us discover Thiruppavai

It’s Marghali. I’ve wanted to wrote about this month earlier, but I had no time. Well, let’s say, Sriman just blessed me today to write on this topic :) To put in simple word:
This month of margazhi is very divine as Kannan in His geethai says, “Amongst the months, I shall be margazhi”. Imagine how wonderful this month could be.

“If you get me married to mere mortals, I shall not wish to live, I shall not allow you to do so, I shall get wed to Paraman alone”

Thiruppavai.

A well known pasuram, sung by Aandal @ Gothai, on her determination to get married to Rangamanar alone.

"one who sings this garland of pasurams in changattamizh, shall definitely get the divine blessings of Thirumal; one who does not know these thirty pasurams of Thiruppavai is a burden to the earth"

~The beauty of His thirumeni which is the color of a water bearing cloud,
the beauty of His eyes which look like a bloomed lotus are mesmerizing us and inspiring us to observe this paavai nombu with Him.

“Having heard of our grievances and shortcomings, He shall come running to protect us, but we should still perform our ordained duties regularly.

You have captivated Him inside your beautiful eyes that have blossomed like a beautiful lotus. He would come to us only if he were to be freed from the confines of those beautiful eyes.

If you do not come to us and exhibit those virtues (compassion, humility, forbearance), then they would be as good as being absent. Think it over Oh Lord!”

"Whoever resorts to your lotus feet, have been assured of your protection."

When the soiled water is made free of mud and dirt, then what remains below is the pure potable water. Similarly if we remove the vision of our physical eyes that is replete with the blemishes of desire, anger, greed, passion, pride and jealousy and see only through the eyes of our unsullied knowledge, then it is possible to see you in everyone’s heart in your complete divine and magnificent form.”

Oh Naaranane! I am not there without you and you are not there without me.

verse 27:

palagalanum yaam aNivOm The wonderful hands that do service to your lotus feet,  need to be bejewelled with bangles that are enmeshed with the finest of all the nine gems. The hands that cuddle you need to be adorned with the finest of shoulder jewelry.

You adorn the makarakundalas (ear rings) on your ear. To match the greatness of these, you should bestow a pair of diamond earrings to the beautiful ears that listen to your sweet flute all the time. These ears should be decorated with flowers (chevippoovu) as well.

You would touch our feet during the observance of ammi midiyal during our holy matrimony. Such legs need to be decorated with the ornament of jingles (paadagam). You should thus grant us with all the jewellery that we seek. Women decorate themselves with jewels before clothing themselves. For this we need finest and fragrant most silk attires worn by you.

Kannan then says “But I do not possess so much to be given to all of you”. The Gopis say, “Pray get us our attires from the same place from where you granted Draupadi with rolls and rolls of attire, when she pleaded unto you taking your holy names like Krishna, Govinda”.

adhan pinnE paaR chORu mooda ney peydhu muzhangai vazhi vaara(k) koodi
irundhu kuLirndhElOr Until we attained you, we were determined not to take ghee or milk and not to decorate our tresses with fragrant flowers. But we have won you now.
From now on, we shall bejewel ourselves, wear grand silk attire, get our tresses decorated by you with flowers and we shall relish the sweetness and delicacy of ksheeraannam (milk rice) Oh Sriman Narayana.

verse 29:

Kannan says, “You already asked me for ‘saala perumparaiyE’, the percussion instrument with a well reverberating sound. Here it is, take it all. I have one per person.”

iRRai(p) paRai koLvaan anRu kaaN gOvindhaa Kannan, when we said ‘paRai’, did we mean this instrument? No. Never. Please take a look at our faces. You seem to be too naive.

eRRaikkum Ezh Ezh piRavikkum un thannOdu uRROmE aavOm unakkE naam
aatcheyvOmNot only in this birth, but even if we were to take many more births, then in all those births we would wish to be in your service alone. If you bless us with the bliss of beatitude, then we would be in your eternal service at your supreme abode of Srivaikuntham. The Vedas proclaim that a liberated soul can attire itself with many sharirams. Even if we happened to do so, then in every one of those bodies we would continue to serve you alone and none else.

Kannan says, “In that case are you not interested in any other material pleasures?”

matrai nam kaamangaL maatruPray bless us to have no other desire other than you.
Andal, in this pasuram is elucidating that, having surrendered unto the Lord, the soul should only ask for the fruit of performing unstinted service to the Lord always, similar to Lakshmana.

Beautiful line, and as a conclusion,
muppadhum thappaamE ingu ipparisuraippaar The loss of a single gem in a gem
studded necklace makes the necklace of no value. The loss of a single stone in a
diamond earring brings its value down. Similarly all the thirty verses need to be
recited without fail.

~This meaning and verse was taken from Thiruppaavai booklet by Poundarikapuram Srimad Andavan Srimath Gopaladesika Mahadesikan, Translation in english given by Sri C.G. Balaji and  edited by Oppiliappan Koil Sri Varadachari Sathakopan.

May All of us are blessed by Sriman Narayanan and Naachiyar on this auspicious month.

What if we do not have all these in us?

First week of the year. Let us talk about humanity and moral values. Something we should always remember and uphold it.

Trust

Utmost importance should be given for this golden word. It may contain only five words, but can you imagine the meaning that it carries? One thing, do not trust anyone blindly. Never! If I tell you my secrets, it means I trust you so much. And, if in any case you break it, man, you can never mend it. It will remain a scar, and I will think twice before sharing anything with you, again.
~Once bitten twice shy~

Respect

Talking about respect, respect is something you get when you give to others. Something you earn. People will never respect you if you behave disrespectful to them. People older to us are exceptional. Whether you like it or not, you have to give respect to them. So learn to respect everyone.
~It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character.~Dale Turner

Never Regret

Sounds different. Actually we should regret, nah?.No. Maybe if we made a mistake, we regret at first, but learn not to regret. If you did it on purpose, then it was exactly what you wanted to do, no matter what the result of your act is. If the result is a negative one, (well, you did it on purpose), you should actually be brave to face to consequences. When you start regretting, you actually losing your self esteem, and you blame yourself. This pulls negative auras towards you. Therefore, reduce your regret and live joyfully.
~Procrastination makes no room for regret~

Civilised Man

Speak lovingly; always end with a smile, never hate, show respect, forgive quick, ask sorry wherever needed and you will have zero enemies. Show act of kindness, be polite, learn mannerism,  avoid rudeness, never take decision in anger, live life feeling contented, and our heart will be as light as feather.
~Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.~Og Mandino

The first human who hurled an insult instead of a stone was the founder of civilization.  ~Sigmund Freud

Be generous

More to write, but I'm not a philosopher. And I ain't a saint. I, too do make mistakes. I'm learning to a better person. Hope for the best!
